Interface (https://www.interface-online.org.uk/) is a free matchmaking service that can connect your business quickly and easily to the world class knowledge, expertise and research facilities available in all of Scotland’s Universities and Research Institutes.

If you have a specific technical problem/business requirement/R&D need, then they can work with you to help define your needs into a working brief that can be sent to relevant pockets of expertise across all of Scotland’s universities and research institutions. They will endeavour to identify the right academic expertise and make the introductions to the appropriate academic partners.

There are many ways in which a collaborative partnership can be formed, from student consultancy to PhD and academic research. Interface will also work with you and the academic partner to help identify appropriate funding that can offset some of the costs in working with a university.

Alternatively, if you don’t have a specific need right now, it’s useful for them to become familiar with your business and the areas you are operating in, so that they can reach out to you when certain opportunities arise within the universities.
